Director of Campus Partnerships and Auxiliary Services

  • Rate: $64,400 - $69,800 and bonusโ€‘eligible

Position Summary: The Director of Campus Partnerships and Auxiliary Services is responsible for developing, marketing, and managing the universityโ€™s portfolio of rentable facilities and services to external organizations. This position serves as the primary business development leader for the use of campus spaces, driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, event sales, conferences, camps, meetings, weddings, corporate engagements, and community programs. The Director will maximize utilization of university facilities, develop strategic partnerships, create entrepreneurial opportunities, and generate sustainable nonโ€‘tuition revenue consistent with the universityโ€™s mission and strategic priorities. In addition, the Director provides leadership and operational oversight for Campus Services, including the Mailroom, Campus Store, and Loading Dock, ensuring efficient, customerโ€‘focused services that support daily operations and enhance the campus experience.

Revenue Generation & Business Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to increase annual unrestricted revenue through strategic utilization of university facilities, services, partnerships, and auxiliary enterprises.
  • Identify, evaluate, and launch new auxiliary business ventures with corporations, associations, government agencies and municipalities, religious and nonprofit organizations, athletic organizations, conference planners, and community groups.
  • Establish annual revenue goals and performance metrics.
  • Create pricing strategies and rental packages that maximize facility utilization and profitability.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external organizations seeking to utilize university facilities; may require onโ€‘site presence during hosted events.
  • Conduct facility tours, presentations, and proposal development.
  • Negotiate contracts, rental agreements, and service packages.
  • Develop longโ€‘term partnerships that generate recurring business.
Event & Facility Management
  • Coordinate with campus departments including Facilities, Housekeeping, Campus Safety, Athletics, Housing, Dining, Information Technology, and Academic Affairs to support external events.
  • Ensure successful planning and execution of conferences, meetings, camps, special events, and other external programs.
  • Manage scheduling and utilization of rentable facilities, including meeting rooms, conference centers, residence halls, performance spaces, and outdoor venues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and system administrator of 25Live (scheduling software).
  • Oversee event logistics and ensure compliance with university policies.
Campus Services
  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for the Universityโ€™s Mailroom, Campus Store and Loading Dock โ€“ ensuring efficient, customerโ€‘focused operations for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Mailroom: Oversee daily operations, including receipt, sorting, processing, distribution, and shipment of mail and packages; coordinate tracking, notification, and pickup processes; monitor postage expenses and recommend costโ€‘effective practices.
  • Campus Store: Oversee operations, maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency; manage inventory, purchasing, merchandising, receiving, and stock control; coordinate with vendors and departments to maintain appropriate inventory levels and product offerings; monitor sales performance and recommend strategies to improve experience and revenue.
  • Loading Dock: Manage scheduling of deliveries and coordinate receiving and distribution of materials; ensure compliance with safety standards and receiving procedures; maintain accurate documentation.
Marketing & Promotion
  • Develop customer acquisition and marketing strategies to generate leads and promote campus facilities and services.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to create promotional materials, digital content, and advertising campaigns.
  • Represent the university at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop annual sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and revenue projections; analyze metrics by event type.
  • Monitor financial performance and prepare regular reports for leadership.
  • Track key performance indicators including occupancy rates, event volume, client retention, and revenue growth.
  • Recommend investments and operational improvements that enhance revenue potential.
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop short and longโ€‘term plans for expanding external engagement and facility utilization.
  • Evaluate new business models, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Ensure alignment between external event activity and institutional priorities.
  • Promote a culture of customer service, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Five or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in sales, business development, conference services, event management, hospitality, venue management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in generating revenue and achieving sales targets; experience negotiating contracts and managing client relationships.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; prior experience in higher education, conference centers, hospitality, or venue management environments.
  • Prior experience managing budgets and financial reporting is required.
  • Familiarity or willingness to attain familiarity with the Catholic and Benedictine mission of the university.

Physical Requirements

Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtโ€‘wide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General customer service and office environment. Pandemic protocol guidelines apply.

Local and regional travel may be required for sales and partnership development.

Working Conditions

This position requires evening and weekend work to support events, client meetings, and business development activities. The employee frequently talks and hears. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and or climbing all day. The employee may need to lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Working may occur in various or extreme weather conditions.

Training
