Job Title: Pre-K Auxiliary Teacher

Company: We Are 1 Pre-K

Location: Birmingham, AL

Pay: $11.00–$14.00 per hour

Job Summary

We Are 1 Pre-K is seeking a dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Pre-K Auxiliary Teacher to support our First Class Pre-K classroom. The Auxiliary Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a positive, team-oriented school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.

  • Supervise children during classroom, playground, meal, and transition times.

  • Prepare learning materials and classroom centers.

  • Support children with daily routines, including restroom breaks, meals, and nap time as needed.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.

  • Encourage positive behavior and social development.

  • Follow all Alabama First Class Pre-K standards, licensing requirements, and school policies.

  • Communicate professionally with staff and families.

  • Perform other classroom duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.

  • Must pass all required background checks.

  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
