Student At Law information

What is a student at law?

A Student At Law is a law school graduate who is completing an articling term, which is a period of practical legal training required to become a licensed lawyer in many jurisdictions. During this time, the student works under the supervision of a qualified lawyer, gaining hands-on experience in various areas of legal practice. The articling period is an essential step in bridging the gap between academic studies and professional legal work, and it typically lasts between 8 to 12 months. Upon successful completion and passing any required bar exams, a Student At Law may be called to the bar and practice law independently.
