Job Summary

ECTC is seeking part-time instructors to teach Electrical Construction I & II, including both lecture and hands-on lab components. These courses cover residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, combining classroom theory with practical, real-world training. Day and evening teaching opportunities are available.

Job Duties:

Deliver in-person instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical construction.
Facilitate hands-on lab activities that simulate real-world electrical work environments.
Maintain classroom and lab spaces, including tools and training materials.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and code updates to ensure course content remains relevant.
Support student learning and success through mentorship and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Credential in the field of study; an Associate's degree preferred.
Alternatively, a valid Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license with documented industry training may substitute for a degree.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant field experience; 5 years preferred.
Kentucky Journeyman or Master Electrician License strongly preferred.
Prior teaching experience at the community college level is a plus.
Commitment to supporting a diverse student population and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Comprehensive knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems, including materials, tools, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Skilled in interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics, with hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
Effective instructional and communication skills, with the ability to clearly demonstrate technical procedures and engage students in both classroom and lab settings.
Commitment to safety and industry best practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and safe use of hand and power tools.
Ability to support diverse learners, stay current with industry trends, and contribute to a collaborative, student-centered learning environment.
