Job Summary
In recognition that some student positions will not logically fit into Levels 1-4, Level 5 allows for distinctive student duties and responsibilities not relevant to routine academic and office jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will typically involve highly individualized tasks and skill sets. Examples in this category include, but are not limited to RA's, Eagle guides, academic tutors, general services workers, custodial workers, and agricultural services. This position will generally require one on one contact with internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts campus tours in MSU vehicle, golf cart, or by walking
Presents admissions information using PowerPoint to visit prospective students and their families individually and in small group settings
Presents admissions information using PowerPoint to large and small high school groups visiting campus
Promotes Morehead State University by answering questions and providing information about student life
Assists Senior Admissions Counselors
Assists Recruiter Communication Manager
Works Open House events
Works Diversity Day events
Works other campus recruitment events as needed
Assists other Enrollment Services staff as needed
Enters prospects into Datatel Recruiter Console
Forwards spreadsheets to Associate Director of Enrollment Services for distribution to academic departments
Assists with open house registration spreadsheets and general organizing of registrations
Assists with open house registration spreadsheets and general organizing of registrations
Forwards open house spreadsheets to Assistant Director of ES/Recruiting and to ES Customer Service Coordinator
Folds letters and inserts appropriate information into envelopes for mailing purposes to prospective students
Pulls student files and works with Credential Specialists by obtaining information needed for answering inquiries regarding the application process
Prepares informational folders for visiting/touring students Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Must be a current MSU student
Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
Must feel comfortable using nominal judgment and possess basic analytical or decision-making skills
Must have the ability to understand and to follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to operate equipment relevant to the distinctive position
Knowledge of the unique requirements of the placement location.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Student must be friendly and courteous and possess a positive attitude with a strong ability to promote MSU to prospective students.
Student must register to drive official MSU vehicles and therefore must have a valid operator's license with a good driving record.
Extensive knowledge of campus and MSU academic and extracurricular components is essential.
Physical Requirements Working Conditions
Position requires a significant amount of walking, driving motor vehicles, and a golf cart. Student will be inside and out of doors conducting campus tours. Student must register to drive official MSU vehicles and therefore must have a valid operator's license with a good driving record. Occasional Saturday work may be needed for special events such as Open House sessions, Diversity Day, and other recruitment related events. When not conducting tours, students will work in a typical office environment performing office duties relating to the communication plan for prospective students. FERPA training is required. Student is required, whenever possible, to adjust the class schedule so that work shifts are not sporadic and their availability is in increments of time exceeding two hours or more.
