Job Description Summary

Job Summary/Purpose:
•A student Radiologic Technologist works with a registered Radiologic Technologist to complete diagnostic imaging exams.
•The student prepares patients for exams, stocks, and prepares exam rooms, and assists in the performance of radiologic exams.
Required Minimum Training and Education:
•Current 2nd year student in a formal Diagnostic Imaging Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
•Must have the ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
•Currently enrolled in an accredited diagnostic imaging program, 2nd year student.
•South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards - Limited Radiologic License
•Current BLS certification.

Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and positions patients and selects exposure factors under direct and indirect supervision.
  • Follows safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Prepares for and assists the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of radiographic exams.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in the department.
  • Notifies appropriate staff members of supply needs, equipment malfunction, and necessary maintenance.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
