Job Description
Job Summary
Assisting Recreational Sports Intramural Staff with providing a safe, healthy, and positive environment for Intramural participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementation of proper protocol and procedures at the beginning (proper set up of all equipment) and program conclusion (securing equipment and program facility).
  • Game management including stats, scoreboard, and officiating of Intramural events, games, or competitions to maintain standards of play and to ensure game rules are observed.
  • Assist with implementation of emergency protocol during Intramural events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.
  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.
  • Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

Preferred Experience and Education
  • Experience with game management at sporting events as well as officiating experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and implementation of game rules, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for Intramural Program participants.
  • Knowledge and implementation of university policies as well as Rec Sports Intramural guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for Intramural participants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with participants and spectators. Must possess strong customer service skills.

  • Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.

  • Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.
  • Position requires strict punctuality.
  • Promptly complete all required trainings.
  • Submit time sheet biweekly.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Subject to funding and/or need.

Pay of Rate: $8.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
