Student Worker - Innovation Center
The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - Innovation Center at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
This position will assist the Innovation Center Manager with daily operations to ensure the lab remains open and accessible during posted hours. Duties include monitoring the safe use of equipment (3D printers, laser cutters, VR headsets), maintaining a clean and organized maker space, and assisting students and faculty with basic equipment use and inquiries.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Oversee the Innovation Center Desk
  • Help users with projects, working equipment, etc...
  • Check-in and out Center equipment for users.
  • Maintain Center cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Help enforce Center policies.
  • Help assist Innovation Center Manger in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with 3D printers, laser cutters, VR headsets, etc.. (Or the willingness to learn.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting skills.

Special Notes To Applicants
The Innovation Center is staffed Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Applicants must be available to work within these set hours.
We are looking for dependable, friendly, self-starting students who enjoy helping others use and learn innovative equipment!
Maximum of 19 hours per week.
