Student Employee - Communication Program TA

Position Summary:
Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part-time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit.
Specific Summary of Duties:
  • Help coordinate and manage Canvas materials for courses - Review and prepare class sections for each semester - Monitor progress for each section throughout the semester - Review and match with syllabi content
  • Assist adjunct professors - Day to day adjunct instructor support including arrangement of substitutes, grading, scheduling, etc.
  • Support program students - Help with New Student Orientation - Help with new student orientation planning and coordination - Offer tutoring support as available
  • Assist full-time faculty - Work daily on ongoing projects to support the program - Make appointments for students to meet with the Program Chair as needed - Keep track of program budget invoices and receipts - Manage and maintain communications with program students

Job Qualification:
  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits (3 per block) and in good academic standing.
  • Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively, listen and respond appropriately.
  • Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, and has a great attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Canvas.
  • LIGHT EXERTION - Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves sitting for extended periods of time and walking and/or standing.
  • Experience with at least two of the following: digital marketing, digital design, website SEO, photography, video editing, and audio production.
