Job description

Undergrad student wage position for less than 20 hours per week.

The UVA Career Center engages and supports students in the discovery and pursuit of meaningful lives. We do this by encouraging exploration, offering customized coaching and advising, fostering tailored connections, creating innovative programming, curating relevant content and technologies, developing essential skills, and facilitating transformative experiences.

The UVA Career Center's office is located in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium, room 236. We are on the UTS bus route and have short-term metered parking for visitors. We offer a fun, friendly and learning atmosphere in which to work, and we welcome the opportunity to employ talented University of Virginia students. The UVA Career Center is seeking a Data & Analytics Assistant to extract data resources from several programs and products, assist in assembling the data for inclusion in a central repository, and design visual reports utilizing the assembled data in Qlik, a B.I. tool used by the university. The Career Center generates a robust set of data resources from its various platforms and interactions with employers and students.

An ideal candidate should:

Be able to quickly orient themselves in a software platform and be able to extract data reports in a consistent and comprehensive manner.

Have experience working in a relational database environment and utilizing a query language.

This position is ideal for an MSDS graduate student or someone looking for experience in: Business Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Information Management.

This position is open to all undergraduate and graduate UVA students. Undergraduate wage is $16.75 an hour and Graduate wage is $18.00 an hour.

This position begins in the summer and runs through the full academic year.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
