Job description

The UNM-Valencia Financial Aid Office is seeking a student-centeredFinancial Aid Officer to support students and families.

The successful candidate will guide students and families on financialaid options, eligibility, applications, verification, scholarships, work-study,and satisfactory academic progress. This position evaluates, approves, andawards aid in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations;reviews files and documentation; monitors academic progress; and adjudicatesappeals. The Financial Aid Officer also maintains accurate records, supportsreports and compliance tasks, assists with assigned programs, and collaborateswith EMSS and campus partners to promote access, persistence, and completion.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, theUniversity of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of theUniversity of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis onteaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit HighSchool/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty andstaff serve a student body of approximately 1,900 students per semester.
