Activities Assistant

Are you studying Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Recreation, or a related field? This is the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with elementary-aged children in a structured afterschool program while developing skills that future employers and graduate programs value.
As an Activities Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced educators while gaining real-world experience in:
  • Classroom & behavior management
  • Child engagement
  • Lesson support
  • Leadership & communication
  • Time management
  • Teamwork

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday | 2:00-6:00 PM
  • Follows the Tarrytown & Irvington school calendars
  • Approximately 180 days per school year
  • Paid orientation, required training, and scheduled early dismissal days

What You'll Do
  • Support fun enrichment classes including Sports, Art, STEAM, Music & Movement, Potpourri, and Homework.
  • Assist with classroom management and student engagement.
  • Set up and clean up activities.
  • Serve snack and prepare materials.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment.
  • Work alongside a supportive team to deliver an exceptional afterschool experience.
