Join us to drive positive, lasting change that moves missions and the government forward!
The work
We are seeking a SAP Plan to Perform Functional Manager with a specialization in Project System (PS) and Sales and Distribution (SD) to serve as a functional architect for our federal clients. This role is focused on designing and implementing integrated, end-to-end solutions for managing project-driven revenue and costs. You will be the primary subject matter expert for the entire Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle in a project-based environment, translating complex federal requirements for sales, execution, and project accounting into an elegant and effective SAP system design. Your mission is to build a world-class framework that seamlessly links sales orders to project structures, enabling accurate cost accumulation, milestone-based billing, and real-time profitability analysis.
Key responsibilities
  • Lead the design of the complete ""project-to-profit"" landscape
  • Architect the integration between Sales and Distribution (SD) and Project System (PS), defining how sales orders drive project creation, revenue planning, and cost management
  • Design robust project structures (WBS, Networks) and billing plans that align with federal contract requirements
  • Perform expert-level configuration across the core integrated modules
  • Configure sales document types, item categories for project-based sales, and billing plans (e.g., Milestone Billing, Resource-Related Billing) to automate customer invoicing based on project progress
  • Ensure proper cost and revenue flow to projects and subsequent settlement to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) and the General Ledger (FI)
  • Act as the steward for the critical integration points between SD, PS, and FI/CO
  • Ensure flawless data flow from sales order creation to project revenue plans, posting of actual costs to projects, and accurate revenue recognition and project settlement based on Results Analysis
  • Adapt and apply PS/SD functionalities to meet the unique demands of federal project accounting and contract fulfillment
  • Ensure the solution integrates with Public Sector Management (PSM-FM) for budget availability checks on project-related expenditures and supports the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
  • Lead requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders to define and document all processes related to project-based sales, resource management, milestone tracking, customer billing, and project profitability reporting
  • Develop and execute rigorous end-to-end test plans covering the entire process from sales order to project closure
  • Manage PS/SD-specific data migration, support cutover activities, and provide post-go-live hypercare to ensure the stability and accuracy of the integrated solution

Here's what you need
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Project System (PS) and SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) within an SAP environment
  • Understanding of the integration points between sales orders, project structures, and project accounting
  • Proven project experience configuring both PS and SD
  • Specific expertise in Results Analysis (RA), Milestone Billing, Resource-Related Billing, and the settlement of projects is essential
  • Knowledge of SAP Controlling (CO)
  • Experience with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), specifically the integration between Project System and Funds Management (FM) for controlling project budgets and expenditures
  • Strong understanding of federal financial management

Nice to have
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Eligibility requirements
  • US Citizen (no dual citizenship)
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
