Job description

  • SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing facility, including production areas, offices, break rooms, restrooms, warehouses, and common spaces. This role supports a safe working environment by ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met and company policies and safety regulations are followed.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout the facility.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly.
  • Clean windows, doors, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Replenish restroom and break room supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production support areas while adhering to manufacturing and safety requirements.
  • Clean spills and respond promptly to sanitation or housekeeping issues.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and complete assigned work orders.
  • Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to OSHA
  • Assist with facility setup and cleanup for meetings, events, or special projects.
  • Support company initiatives related to workplace safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.
  • Report on maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to management.
  • Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and cleaning chemicals while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
  • This is a full-time position. The base days and hours are Monday through Thursday, ten (10) hour shifts.
  • TRAVEL
  • No travel is expected for this position.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • Previous custodial, janitorial, industrial or manufacturing facility experience preferred.
    • Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment is a plus.
  • ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
    • English language and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • WORK AUTHORIZATION
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. as a pre-condition of employment.
