Reporting to: VP/Director, Structured Finance

Location: Hybrid โ€” based in Austin, Denver, or San Francisco. Remote employees will not be considered.

Role Summary

The Structured Finance team is committed to helping Lightsource bp finance and commercialize utilityโ€‘scale renewable energy projects. We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Senior Manager, Structured Finance to join a dynamic and highโ€‘performing team supporting substantial deal flow across our U.S. platform.

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, Denver, or San Francisco, and we are especially interested in candidates who are energized by working collaboratively across a fastโ€‘paced, transactionโ€‘oriented environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support negotiations with financing counterparties for solar and energy storage assets, including tax equity, construction debt, term debt, and other financial products
  • Perform all aspects of transaction execution, including project marketing, establishment of financing terms, investor due diligence, modeling, management of outside consultants, and closing
  • Provide guidance to other groups within Lightsource bp with respect to structuring project issues as they relate to financing
  • Review models on behalf of the origination group for soundness of assumptions, modeling, and results
  • Prepare investment committee presentations at key milestones in the project lifecycle, including term sheet execution and financial close
  • Work with junior staff to maintain and refine the companyโ€™s financial model suite through continuous improvement
  • Closely follow industry trends and competitors, including deal flow and transactions
  • Collaborate with crossโ€‘functional teams
Knowledge and Skillset
  • Outstanding financial modeling skills and general fluency in Excelโ€‘based analyses; a modeling assessment will be administered as part of the interview process
  • Detailed knowledge of key commercial and legal deal points with respect to construction financing, term financing, tax equity, and tax credit transfer transactions
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of U.S. power markets
  • Fluency in Excelโ€‘based financial models; knowledge of VBA a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and partner with colleagues across multiple office locations
Qualifications & Experience
  • 4โ€“6 years of project finance experience in a transactional role, preferably working for a renewable energy development company, financial advisor, investment bank, or other transactional/closingโ€‘oriented role performing detailed financial analyses
  • Tangible experience supporting or running project finance transactions in the energy or infrastructure space; ideally with substantial exposure to live tax equity and tax credit transactions
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree, ideally in a quantitative field; MBA or CFA preferred

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work across multiple crossโ€‘functional stakeholders on tight timelinesAble to adapt quickly to changing and competing priorities and assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to assess issues, generate a plan of action, and communicate with stakeholders to build consensus
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid office environment and maintaining strong collaboration across locations
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Base salary: $160,000 to $180,000 annually
  • Annual bonus: 25%
