Job description

Overview

Henkels & McCoy, Inc. (H&M’s) Chantilly office specializes in low voltage cabling to support enterprise, data centers, government, and medical facilities. We design and install multiple technologies and work throughout the Baltimore & Washington DC Metro areas. H&M is seeking an energetic, career minded individual to join our team working at a various customer sites in Northern Virginia.

The Foreman is a first in-line supervisor and has extensive knowledge of the industry and the work involved, along with an ability to resolve problems with appropriate and timely decisions.  He or she ensures that all work is installed and maintained in accordance with the Company’s and Customer’s requirements, including safety, quality, and management. 


Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for all onsite construction activities including managing a crew, embracing, and promoting the company’s safety culture, managing productivity, and helping to meet project milestones and/or budget.
  • Mentors’ technicians and installers to complete their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Embrace H&M’s safety culture by following safe work practices and policies – leading by example.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, floor plans, specifications and cut sheets.
  • Maintain compliance with customers’ security requirement ensuring junior team members comply.
  • Solid team player exhibits a positive attitude, high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions and make recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate daily milestones and manage crew’s productivity to ensure keeping to project timelines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain top notch relationships with both internal and external customers and other onsite trades.
  • Proactively manages job site organization and housekeeping.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years’ directly related experience, including managing crews of 10+ installers/technicians.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in the structured cabling industry required.
  • Broad problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Excel & Outlook applications required.
  • Ability to utilize company specific applications required.
  • BICSI Certification preferred/not required.
  • Industry Certifications as plus. (i.e. CommScope, Hilti, Panduit, etc.)
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and perform the necessary work while on the ladder.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Ability to travel to multiple job sites in the metro DC area.
  • Local Candidates only/ no relocation provided.

Starting Hourly Rate is $31.03 + depending upon experience.
