Description:

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. This role supports commercial and industrial projects involving data, voice, security, and audiovisual systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coax)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
  • Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and sleeves
  • Perform cable testing using certification tools (Fluke or equivalent)
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and company quality expectations
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites
Requirements: Qualifications:
  • 1โ€“3+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices
  • Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber (preferred)
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BICSI certification (Installer or Technician)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience with access control, CCTV, or VoIP systems
Work Environment:
  • Construction sites, commercial buildings, and office environments
