Job description

The Project Estimator plays a critical role in accurately forecasting costs and resources for large-scale construction projects. Functioning as the sole estimator, this position involves detailed bid preparation, quantity takeoffs, risk assessments, and reporting to ensure project feasibility and profitability. The Project Estimator reports directly to the Operations Director and occasionally visits sites to gather essential data and validate estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate cost estimation for large single projects
  • Prepare detailed bid packages for client submissions
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs based on project blueprints and specifications
  • Assess project risks and potential cost impacts
  • Analyze data to support estimation accuracy and decision making
  • Generate comprehensive reports to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Maintain regular client communication to clarify requirements and provide updates
  • Occasionally visit project sites to validate and refine estimates
