Job description

Digital Provisions, is the leading security integrator on Long Island, New York, delivering advanced security solutions to a wide range of clients, including K-12 schools, businesses, and public institutions. Our passion lies in creating safe environments by partnering with educators, government officials, law enforcement, and private enterprises. Through these collaborations, we design and deploy comprehensive security systems tailored to each client's unique needs. Whether safeguarding schools, businesses, or public spaces, we have the expertise to assess risks and implement solutions that protect people and property, allowing our clients to focus on their core missions.

Role Overview

Digital Provisions is seeking an elite Senior Field Technician (Foreman Track) to lead complex commercial security installations and service operations. This role is for professionals with 7+ years of high-level commercial security integration experience who can independently execute, program, commission, and troubleshoot advanced access control, VMS, and low-voltage systems without requiring engineering oversight. Senior Field Technicians remain hands-on while also leading crews, sequencing work, owning job-site execution, and enforcing installation standards. This role is a direct pipeline to Foreman for individuals who consistently perform at a high level. After a 3–6 month performance-based probationary period, candidates who demonstrate leadership, technical mastery, and low rework rates will transition into the Foreman role with expanded operational responsibility. This is not an entry-level leadership role. We are looking for technicians who already operate at a lead level.

  • Configure door logic, relay outputs, alarm inputs, schedules, and event-based programming
  • Commission and validate camera systems including stream configuration, recording rules, storage allocation, and user permissions
  • Diagnose complex issues across power, wiring, device health, network connectivity, and software layers
  • Perform structured system migrations, firmware updates, and live cutovers

Low‑Voltage & Head-End Execution

  • Perform professional low-voltage circuit wiring, terminations, and supervised device connections
  • Build clean, labeled, serviceable head-end panels and IDF/MDF environments
  • Execute structured cabling installations including composite cable, category cable, and pathway coordination
  • Work within conduit, raceways, cable trays, and commercial pathway systems
  • Read and execute from blueprints, risers, electrical schematics, and device wiring diagrams
  • Calculate basic load requirements for power supplies and validate PoE deployments

Fire & Life Safety Coordination

  • Work within environments containing fire alarm systems and coordinate appropriately
  • Understand NFPA, state, and local compliance sensitivity
  • Recognize when licensed fire alarm contractors must be engaged
  • NICET familiarity preferred but not required

Supervisory & Field Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead small crews of technicians on active job sites
  • Assign daily tasks and sequence work for efficiency and quality
  • Serve as the on-site technical authority
  • Mentor junior technicians and enforce workmanship standards
  • Monitor pace and adjust assignments to maintain schedule
  • Communicate clearly with Project Managers regarding progress, blockers, and material needs
  • Maintain high standards for safety, professionalism, and customer interaction

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and job-site best practices
  • Ensure all installations comply with low-voltage code requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation including:
    • Device labeling
    • IP addressing tables

    • Genetec

  • Advanced troubleshooting experience across access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
  • Strong expertise in low-voltage wiring, terminations, structured cabling, and head-end builds
  • Experience installing maglocks, door strikes, relay logic, and power distribution systems
  • Knowledge of power supply configurations and PoE device deployment
  • Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals (static IPs, subnet basics, device connectivity validation)
  • Demonstrated experience leading technicians or operating as site lead

  • Experience managing full job-site execution as acting Foreman
  • Experience in K-12, municipal, or prevailing wage commercial environments
