Overview

  • Contract position
  • Onsite, Monday–Friday
  • 40 hours per week
  • Initial 3-month engagement with strong potential for extension to 6 months
  • $55/hour

Seeking two intermediate-level Data Center Rack & Stack Engineers to support day-to-day operations for a large retail client within an enterprise data center environment. This role is focused on hands-on execution and physical infrastructure support rather than senior-level architecture or engineering responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, and rack servers and related hardware.
  • Mount rails, brackets, and supporting equipment.
  • Perform structured cabling, patching, labeling, and cable management.
  • Validate power connections and connectivity.
  • Assist with basic hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Manage inventory, equipment staging, and asset handling.
  • Provide general physical data center support and operational assistance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a data center, IT infrastructure, or rack-and-stack environment.
  • Experience installing and removing servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling practices, including copper and fiber patching.
  • Familiarity with rack layouts, cable management, power distribution units (PDUs), and data center best practices.
  • Ability to perform physical installation tasks, including lifting and moving equipment as needed.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills related to server hardware, cabling, and connectivity.
  • Experience with inventory management and asset tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
