Position Overview

Hackensack Meridian Mental Wellness Center is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative telehealth team. This position allows you to work remotely, providing you with flexibility and a healthy work-life balance while making a significant impact on the mental health of our clients.

Work Environment

This role will be conducted entirely through a telehealth platform, allowing for a remote work setting that prioritizes both convenience and efficiency in delivering mental health services. Our telehealth infrastructure is designed to streamline consultations, therapy sessions, and follow-up appointments, ensuring that both clinicians and clients have a seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to gauge the severity and impact of their mood disorders. This involves detailed interviews and the use of validated assessment tools to inform treatment strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to devise personalized treatment plans that align with their specific goals and preferences, incorporating evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
  • Implement structured therapeutic interventions for mood disorders such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders, utilizing approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Educate clients and their families concerning mood disorders, available treatment modalities, and self-care strategies to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Systematically monitor client progress throughout the therapeutic process, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on client feedback and clinical observations.
  • Work in tandem with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive an integrated approach to comprehensive care, discussing medication management and helping address client needs holistically.
  • Stay informed about advancements in the field of mental health treatment, participating in continuous education and training to enhance your therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans, ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations and team meetings to share insights and strategies with colleagues, enhancing collaborative and innovative care delivery.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs, working to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions and promoting increased awareness and understanding in the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals facing mood disorders, which can include but are not limited to major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Our client base is richly diverse, and you will encounter various backgrounds and perspectives that will enhance your practice and therapeutic engagement.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Possession of a current and valid LCSW-C, LCPC, or LMFT license to practice in Maryland.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based treatment methods tailored to mood disorders, specifically CBT and DBT.
  • A solid foundation in psychopharmacology, enabling collaborative discussions with psychiatrists regarding client medication regimens.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically with clients and foster a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience treating mood disorders through telehealth platforms or virtual counseling environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic methodologies that enhance treatment efficacy.
  • Experience advocating for mental health services within diverse communities.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Furthermore, we offer a competitive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, continuing education reimbursement, and a sign-on bonus for new hires.
