Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:

  • Weld smaller components (e.g. base plates, stiffener plates, cap plates, fillet welds, railings)
  • Grinding and cleaning welds
  • Replace wire in welding machines
  • Out of position welding (horizontal and vertical)
  • Weld larger assemblies
  • Read WPS and set machine accordingly
  • Weld larger frames, including CJP welds
  • Read prints and understand what welds are required per shop drawings
  • Follow all Safety Rules


PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be proficient in use of carbon arc
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in welding
  • Must be certified unlimited in GMAW, FCAW or FCAW-G, and SMAW.
  • Must be certified to weld rebar
  • Must be certified to operate the overhead and/or jib crane and/or forklift
  • HS Diploma/GED preferred
  • Availability to work overtime as needed
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, twist, reach, and move around for long periods of time
  • Must know how to operate a grinder
