Job description

Precision Industrial Contractors (PIC) is seeking experienced Structural Welders to join our growing industrial construction team. Structural Welders fabricate and weld structural steel components used in commercial and industrial construction projects across the United States.


This is a traveling position with project assignments throughout the United States. Travel is required, and job site locations vary based on project workload.


PIC offers competitive wages, per diem, travel pay, and project completion per diem for qualifying projects.


General Purpose & Scope of Position

The Structural Welder is responsible for welding structural steel members, platforms, handrails, supports, stairs, and miscellaneous metal components while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Weld structural steel using FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW processes.
  • Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel components.
  • Perform layout, fitting, and tack welding of steel members.
  • Install and weld structural supports, platforms, stairways, guardrails, and miscellaneous steel.
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Operate grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Work safely at heights using lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Assist with rigging and steel erection activities as needed.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous structural welding experience.
  • Ability to read structural drawings and welding symbols.
  • Experience with FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
  • Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification.
  • WABO Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience in industrial construction or heavy commercial projects.
