Job description

Our client in Belleville, Mi is looking for Stick/Arc Welders. This is a metal recycling facility. 

Monday-Thursday OR Tuesday-Friday 5am-3pm  1st Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Stick (SMAW) and Arc welding on mild and structural steel for maintenance and fabrication projects

  • Repair, reinforce, and fabricate chutes, hoppers, platforms, and other plant components

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings

  • Use torch, plasma, and mechanical cutting tools to prep and fit parts before welding

  • Operate grinders and hand tools to finish and clean welds

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to support equipment repairs and line modifications

  • Ensure weld quality meets internal safety and structural standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area

  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of welding experience in an industrial, fabrication, or maintenance setting

  • Proficiency with SMAW/Stick welding required; MIG or Flux-Core experience a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols

  • Comfortable working in a heavy-industrial environment (dust, heat, noise, etc.)

  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods

  • Must have steel-toed boots and reliable transportation

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
