Location: Dearborn, MI

Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm M-F

Compensation Range: $25 – $32 per hour, based on experience and weld test performance

About the Opportunity


A well-established steel pipe manufacturer in Dearborn, Michigan is seeking 2–3 skilled MIG Welders to join its team. This opportunity is ideal for experienced welders who take pride in producing consistent, high-quality work and are comfortable working with steel in an industrial manufacturing environment.


The strongest candidates will bring several years of hands-on MIG welding experience, particularly with structural steel, pipe, or heavier-gauge material. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their abilities through a hands-on weld test. SMAW / Stick welding experience is a plus but is not required.


Real-world welding ability, consistency, and quality of workmanship will be key factors in the hiring decision.


What You’ll Do


• Perform MIG welding on steel components in an industrial manufacturing environment

• Produce consistent, high-quality welds according to job specifications

• Work with structural steel, pipe, and heavier-gauge materials as required

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols

• Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, and overall workmanship

• Prepare materials and work areas for welding operations

• Use grinders, torches, hand tools, and other related welding equipment

• Follow established safety and quality procedures

• Work collaboratively with production and other skilled trades personnel to complete projects efficiently


What You Bring


• 5+ years of hands-on welding experience preferred

• Strong MIG / GMAW welding experience required

• Ability to pass a hands-on weld test

• Experience with structural steel, pipe, or heavier material strongly preferred

• Ability to weld in multiple positions

• Experience reading blueprints and weld symbols

• Strong understanding of weld quality and structural integrity

• AWS welding certification preferred

Compensation
