Client- Southern Company Contract- 1 Year

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background in heavy industrial and power plant design. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, specializing in structural steel design, connection design, and engineering calculations for complex industrial structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced structural engineering services for heavy industrial and power plant projects.
  • Prepare, review, and check detailed structural steel design calculations and engineering drawings.
  • Apply structural engineering principles to support project design, evaluations, and field conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable structural codes, standards, and industry methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop effective design solutions.
  • Utilize structural analysis software to model, interpret, and validate structural behavior and loading conditions.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience in power plants or heavy industrial environments.
  • Expert knowledge of structural steel design principles, methodologies, and engineering best practices.
  • Significant experience in structural steel connection design.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with structural codes and standards (AISC, ASCE, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and major structural components.

Education
