I’m currently supporting a growing Quebec-based custom metal fabrication company specializing in aluminum, stainless steel and structural steel projects, in their search for a Senior Mechanical Designer / Industrial Draftsperson. This is a key position within a small, hands-on team where every hire has a major impact. We’re looking for someone highly autonomous, detail-oriented and production-focused-someone who can turn client requirements into accurate shop-ready drawings. Mission We are looking for a strong technical profile capable of delivering reliable, production-ready drawings with minimal supervision. You bring: -A diploma in industrial drafting, mechanical design or a related field -5 years of experience in a similar role within metal fabrication -Strong expertise in SolidWorks, especially the Sheet Metal module -Good working knowledge of AutoCAD for DXF/DWG generation -Hands-on experience with aluminum, stainless steel and steel fabrication -Strong understanding of laser cutting, bending, welding, finishing and assembly processes -Knowledge of CSA / AWS welding symbols and how to apply them correctly on drawings -A strong production mindset and excellent autonomy We also value curiosity, reliability, clear communication and the ability to thrive in a small team where collaboration is essential.
