Job description

Experienced Construction Estimator needed for Steel Contractor doing structural and miscellaneous steel for various commercial and industrial projects, government contracts, high-rise buildings, apartment complexes, restaurants, and sports fields.

THIS IS AN IN-HOUSE POSITION, NOT A REMOTE POSITION


Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze and compile cost data to ensure a high-quality bid

* Produce detailed bids using company specific format that clearly identifies project scope and includes accurate materials,       shop and field labor

* Develop competitive bids using Tekla/PowerFab software

* Review bids with project managers and perform project hand-offs that convey scope

Key Skills:

* Strong Computer skills with the ability to use or learn Tekla/PowerFab software

* Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metals

* Fluent in both Architectural and Structural bid documents

* Highly organized with the ability to communicate information in a clear and precise manner 

* A person with the drive to build relationships and sell the job after the bid
* Detail-oriented with solid time management skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently
* Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple projects
* Knowledge of AISC and AWS Standards
