Mesa seeks a Structural Engineering Intern who will work under the direction of Mesa Senior/Principal Engineers, Designers, and Engineering Managers. The ideal candidate must be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student in good standing in an ABET accredited college/university with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point scale.

General responsibilities include:

  • Apply basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design structures and structural components at power generation facilities.
  • On a task basis, assist in the preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation, such as design criteria, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Work closely with design team and other design disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Quickly become familiar with client and Mesa policies and business unit procedures, complying with procedural requirements for document and deliverable generation.
  • Willing to perform self-study in order to get up to speed learning industry-specific design principles.
  • Not only perform quality work, but also perform self-checks of his/her own work prior to submittal to senior Mesa designers/engineers.
  • Manage personal task assignments.
