Together, we are a leading Midwest provider of concrete pipe, precast products, storage systems, and ready-mix concrete.
We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer to support the design of complex cast-in-place and precast concrete structures across infrastructure, utility, industrial, and commercial projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, large-scale concrete structures including storage tanks, bridge components, underground utility systems, retaining walls, and specialty precast applications while collaborating closely with production, operations, sales, and executive leadership teams.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and Design.

Position Summary
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and preparation of calculations for cast-in-place and precast concrete structures. Projects may include high-capacity concrete storage tanks, footings, precast/prestressed building systems, bridge elements, underground drainage and utility structures, retaining walls, and other specialty concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare structural designs, engineering calculations, and technical submittals for customer and third-party review
  • Develop engineering details and coordinate closely with drafting teams to ensure accurate and efficient production drawings
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ASTM standards, ACI standards, and other relevant design requirements
  • Provide technical support to production, quality control, construction, and sales teams
  • Assist with project bidding and development by helping define project parameters and design requirements
  • Review and approve ready-mix concrete designs and related structural components
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, surveyors, and project stakeholders to support successful project execution
  • Support quality control, plant standards, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across engineering and production operations
  • Participate in project site visits, inspections, and testing activities as needed
  • Maintain required continuing education and professional licensure requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Structural emphasis preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain Kansas licensure through reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, concrete design, and construction practices
  • Experience with applicable building codes, ASTM specifications, ACI standards, and related design requirements
  • Experience with AutoCAD and structural analysis/design software preferred
  • Knowledge of precast, prestressed, cast-in-place, or infrastructure-related concrete systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety

Travel & Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to travel to project sites and manufacturing facilities as needed
  • Must be able to safely access and navigate construction and production environments
