Persona's founding team has a decades-long history in humanoid robotics, bionics, and product development delivering robust hardware that has touched the stars, worked miles below the surface of the ocean, and even roamed Disney Parks. Our mission is focused squarely on shipping beautiful, reliable products at massive scale, while building a customer-focused team to achieve these aims.
We're seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Houston, TX and contribute to the development of cutting-edge humanoid robotics systems. You'll work directly with our mechanical and electrical engineering teams on real projects that impact our robot development.
We are now reviewing applications for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
What You'll Work On:
  • Actuator Design & Testing: Support development and validation of custom actuation systems for humanoid joints
  • Mechanical Systems: Assist with design and prototyping of robotic systems with a focus on structural components and mechanical assemblies
  • Product Development: Be involved with the building, testing, and validation of the robotic systems that you have participated in designing
  • Engineering Documentation: Create technical documentation, test reports, and design specifications
What you'll learn:
  • Hands-on experience with humanoid robotics development from concept to product
  • Real-world application of engineering fundamentals in cutting-edge robotics
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing, or have obtained, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field
  • A passion for robotics, automation, or electromechanical systems
  • Eagerness to tackle challenging technical problems
  • Experience with CAD software (ideally Onshape), prototyping, and hands-on building (coursework, personal projects, or hobby work)
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to get hands-on with tools, equipment, and testing
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to ask good questions and take initiative
