Job description

PIERCE ENGINEERS supports the construction community by providing innovative, yet practical structural engineering solutions developed collaboratively for a diverse client base.

Job Summary:

The Structural Intern assists Structural Engineers and Technicians to gain exposure to work within a professional structural engineering office. 

The Structural Intern should have a working knowledge of the structural systems that they are depicting and should strive to understand the relationship between building components. They should assist the Structural Engineer or Designer they are working with in exposing relational discrepancies in both plans and details. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Assist on a variety of engineering projects with oversight from an engineer/mentor

·       Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (AutoCAD/Revit)

·       Drawing production, building modeling, and applying established production standards to assignments

·       Field surveys

·       Review shop drawings, as directed

·       Assist with engineering administrative activities

·       Support miscellaneous projects and general administrative tasks

Education and Experience:

·       Currently obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Drafting

·       Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (AutoCAD/Revit) is preferred

The salary range for this position is $19-$25/hour. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
