About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking a Full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on tooling for machined or welded assemblies. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to ensure tool compatibility and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in tool design and usage.
  • Providing technical support and training to production teams on the proper use of tools.
  • Participating in the detailed design of structural components.
  • Being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems.
  • Creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications.
  • Preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings
  • Transitioning product design to production and test.
  • Writing technical and proposal documents.
  • Creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and structural design
  • The candidate should be well versed in CAD design utilizing 3D digital product development tools and understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Possesses or has ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
