Job Summary: The Structural Engineering Intern will report to an assigned Project Manager or Principal. The Intern's main job responsibility is assisting project manager and technical staff with project work and organizational activities. Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Organize files and documents.
  • Support staff members in the organization by completing tasks as delegated.
  • Complete basic engineering calculations for review by other team members.
  • Responsible for reviewing their own work to ensure completeness and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Be a productive and cooperative member of the team.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing internally and externally.
  • Ability to listen, understand and retain information and ideas presented verbally and in writing.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

Education and Experience:
  • University student with a focus in Civil or Architectural Engineering
  • Graduate or Upperclassmen preferred; Freshmen or Sophomore may apply
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit a plus.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Part-time/Flexible schedule; 10-20 hours preferred
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to visit project sites as necessary for troubleshooting and to ensure engineering quality
