Position Summary
Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern to support engineering activities related to the design, inspection, maintenance, and improvement of power generation facilities. This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial structures, foundations, site development, and engineering projects within a power plant environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support civil and structural engineering projects and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in field inspections and condition assessments of plant structures and equipment foundations.
  • Assist with site development, drainage, concrete, steel, and structural evaluations.
  • Support engineering analyses for modifications, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Review contractor and vendor drawings and technical submittals.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, construction, and engineering teams.
  • Follow plant safety procedures and applicable industry codes and standards.

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and civil engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in both office and industrial plant environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, or similar engineering software.
  • Exposure to structural design, concrete and steel structures, or construction projects.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or relevant engineering project experience.
