Familiarity with technical tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, and structural design codes is typically required. This designation indicates that the individual is working toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and typically works under the supervision of a licensed PE. Structural Engineer EITs assist in designing, analyzing, and inspecting buildings, bridges, and other structures to ensure their safety and compliance with codes. They gain practical experience as part of the required steps to achieve full licensure. The EIT certification signals a commitment to the engineering profession and ongoing professional development.
