Job description

Snyder & Associates is looking to fill intern and co-op positions on our integrated structural engineering team, Shuck-Britson (SBI) for the summer and fall of 2027.

SBI has built its reputation by solving complex structural challenges with practical, experience-driven engineering. Today, as Snyder's dedicated structural engineering team, SBI combines decades of specialized expertise with the resources of a full-service engineering firm. Our engineers partner with transportation agencies, municipalities, businesses, architects, and contractors on projects ranging from bridge design and rehabilitation to buildings, specialty structures, and historic preservation.


Interns and coops at SBI will take on specific assignments from engineers, project managers and/or leaders in both the vertical structures and bridges workgroups. There are opportunities to assist in project plan design, development, and to gain meaningful professional experiences. 


Full-time college student majoring in structural engineering or civil engineering with an emphasis in structural. Must have strong work ethic, demonstrated desire to learn from hands-on experiences working in a team. Must possess strong communication skills, ability to work on a team and as an individual contributor. Able to manage activity through competing priorities. Must be reliable i.e. punctual, attentive to assigned responsibilities. This can be a very client-centric role - must have strong people skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with a wide range of clients, contractors and other project stakeholders. Any prior experience with construction or prior internships in structural engineering, civil engineering, or construction engineering is a plus. Any construction materials or DOT-related certifications a plus.
