Job description

Strittmatter Companies, a respected leader in site development and excavation, is actively seeking a Safety Technicianto support our rapidly expanding field operations. In this key role, you'll help shape and strengthen our safety culture across multiple job sites and facilities. We're looking for a proactive safety professional who values teamwork, precision, and accountability - and is ready to make a meaningful impact.

This is a boots-on-the-ground role with real influence. You'll work closely with field teams, leadership, and subcontractors to promote best practices, ensure compliance, and help every employee go home safe - every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with project teams and departments to identify hazards and implement effective control measures using engineering solutions or PPE
  • Conduct regular job site safety audits, inspections, and observations, and document and report findings
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company-specific safety policies
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and develop corrective/preventative actions
  • Deliver engaging safety training in both field and classroom settings
  • Provide first-aid care for minor injuries and support emergency response when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management on safety-related concerns
  • Stay up-to-date on regulatory standards and contribute to continuous improvement of our safety systems

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA standards and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or extended shifts
  • Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and on active job sites
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Bonus Points For:

  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 500 certification
  • BCSP certification (CHST, STS, or equivalent)
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Previous safety experience in construction, excavation, or demolition
