What is striping in the context of jobs?

Striping refers to the process of applying painted lines, symbols, or markings on surfaces such as roads, parking lots, airport runways, or warehouses. Workers in striping jobs use specialized equipment to ensure that markings are clear, accurate, and compliant with safety regulations. Striping professionals must have a good understanding of layout plans, surface materials, and the appropriate paints or thermoplastics used for different applications.

Line striping is a job that can be financially rewarding, especially for experienced stripers working on commercial or municipal projects. Earnings depend on factors such as location, job complexity, and whether you are self-employed or work for a company, with some stripers earning a competitive hourly wage or project-based pay. Developing skills with traffic paint equipment and obtaining relevant certifications can improve earning potential.
