Description:

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is a 20-acre theme park featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and over three dozen rides opening Summer of 2026.  


We are seeking an experienced Commercial Painter with striping expertise and the ability to perform specialty painting on large-scale structures, including roller coasters and amusement ride components. This role requires precision, comfort working at heights, and a strong understanding of coatings used in high-visibility, high-durability environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and takes pride in high-quality finish work.

Requirements:

Requirements & Essential Functions:


  • Minimum 4 years of commercial or industrial painting experience
  • Proven experience with striping and pavement markings
  • Experience painting steel or complex structures using rollers and/or spray
  • Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments
  • Knowledge of surface prep, coatings, and proper application techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation



Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including power washing, sanding, grinding, masking, patching, and priming
  • Perform commercial and industrial painting on buildings, steel structures, and specialty assets
  • Execute pavement markings and striping, including parking lots, warehouses, ADA markings, and safety zones
  • Paint roller coasters and amusement ride structures using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment as required
  • Work on elevated structures using lifts, scaffolding, harnesses, and fall-protection systems
  • Operate striping machines, spray rigs, rollers, and other painting equipment
  • Mix and apply paints and coatings according to manufacturer and project specifications
  • Read and follow drawings, layouts, color schedules, and safety plans
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
  • Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience painting amusement rides, roller coasters, bridges, or large steel structures
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience using aerial lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding
  • Knowledge of industrial or specialty coatings (epoxy, urethane, anti-corrosion systems)


Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Full-time position
  • Day, night, and weekend shifts may be required based on project schedules
  • Work performed indoors, outdoors, and at significant heights

Required Qualifications: 


  • Ability to stand, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
