We Require
  • One (1) year of experience in traffic control or traffic operations, including installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, or two (2) years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or construction of roads
  • High school diploma or GED

Other Requirements
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire, an American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Flagging certification

  • Experience driving a Paint Stripe Truck and/or a Chase Truck
  • Completion of IMSA level 1 Signs & Markings
  • Completion of "ATSSA Flagger" and "ATSSA Traffic Control Technician
  • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement

Job Contributions
  • Install and maintain roadway pavement markings
  • Operate a 2 ยฝ ton paint stripe truck, chase truck, sweeper, or other vehicles and equipment as needed
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Perform Pre-check and Pre-inspection of Vehicles
  • Read maps, plan routes, prioritize assigned tasks, clean, and maintain the paint system
  • Interpret and/or draw traffic diagrams and/or sketches of pavement marking layouts
  • Interpret and mark roadways for the application of the appropriate roadway markings
  • Assess and report roadway and traffic control conditions
  • Operate and maintain two-way radio contact with MCDOT Dispatch

Working Conditions
The employee in this position may be required to exert 50-100 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly. Work may be performed both outdoors and in a vehicle. The employee may be subjected to:
