Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

This assembly role involves interpreting blueprints, basic soldering, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities include inspecting assembled units for compliance, effective communication within the team, and notifying lead about low stock levels. The job requires proficiency in hand tools, conducting tests, and troubleshooting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from blueprints, work orders, and verbal/written instructions.
  • Review work orders and obtain pre-picked or un-picked parts from the stockroom.
  • Inspect parts for correctness before assembly.
  • Assemble parts using various hand tools, including a soldering iron.
  • Test assembled units for functionality and replace incorrect/inoperative parts.
  • Inspect units for cosmetic compliance.
  • Calibrate finished instruments against the correct master instrument.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs.
  • Sub-assemble parts and work on accessories as required.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Adhere to quality standards and ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Repair and calibrate viscometers and complete paperwork reflecting work done, parts used, and total time spent in accordance with outlined procedures.
  • Have computer knowledge to check inventory availability and close service orders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Technical certifications in related field is a plus.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Prior experience in an assembly role with an emphasis on precision and quality control.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts and intricate components.
  • Standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects or materials.
  • Repetitive motions such as tightening screws or connecting wires.
  • Fine detail work requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical stamina for continuous assembly tasks.
  • Mobility and flexibility to move around the workspace.
  • Proper handling of tools and equipment, including power tools or machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
