ROLE PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARY
There are certain core requirements that need to be performed to adhere to customer specifications regarding the checking of process and finished product specifications. It is Quality's function to approve batches to run, and to monitor that these core checks are being performed. Leads appointed are to have a mastery of all Quality responsibilities and are to provide information to Supervisors and Managers. Additional tasks, above and beyond normal Quality responsibilities, will be assigned as need dictates.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knowledge of basic lab techniques (i.e., lab skills, ability to use math/formulas, use of testing equipment).
  • Ability to report and maintain all processing & quality control records.
  • Knowledge of Collection and Testing - for incoming & raw ingredients; in-process & finished goods.
  • Report sample results to the production personnel.
  • Inspect and monitor equipment on a regular basis for:
    • Sanitation and GMPs
    • Compliance with Corporate Standards
    • Environmental Control
    • Safety
    • HACCP
  • Provide assistance to the Quality Manager in audit preparation, recall, recovery and investigation of customer complaints.
  • Responsible for inspection of Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Follow all company policies including but not limited to general manufacturing and safety practices.
  • This position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problems.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Pass all company testing

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Basic lab experience, manufacturing experience, proven ability to follow written directions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and write effectively
  • Ability to process quality documentation within a timely manner accurately
