Street team members often face challenges such as engaging with diverse groups of people, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and meeting promotional goals within tight deadlines. To overcome these challenges, it helps to develop strong communication skills, maintain a positive attitude, and stay adaptable when plans change. Many successful street team members also rely on teamwork, sharing tips and supporting each other to maximize their impact during campaigns.

What are street teams?

Street teams are groups of individuals, often hired by companies, music labels, or event organizers, who promote products, events, or brands directly to the public, typically in high-traffic areas. Their main role is to create buzz and awareness through grassroots marketing tactics such as handing out flyers, putting up posters, and engaging with people face-to-face. Street teams are particularly popular in the music and entertainment industries, but they can be used by any organization looking to increase local engagement. Team members are usually outgoing, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about what they are promoting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Street Team member, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Street Team member, you need strong communication skills, enthusiasm for the brand or event, and a high level of reliability, typically with no formal education required but some marketing experience preferred. Street Team Member

Location:  Center Court Pickleball - Shea (Scottsdale, AZ)

Department:  Member Services

Reports To:  Director of Club Operations and Performance

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Employment Type:  Part-Time / Hourly

Available Shifts:  Morning:   7:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Afternoon: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

PURPOSE

The Street Team Representative is the face of Center Court Pickleball in the community. As we open our new Shea location, this role is central to our grassroots launch strategy - getting in front of local businesses, residents, and daily foot traffic to build awareness, spark conversations, and convert interest into active memberships. Street Team Representatives carry the CCP brand into the neighborhood, creating excitement around our opening and making every interaction an opportunity to grow our community.

PRODUCT

Street Team Representatives are deployed at local businesses and high-traffic community areas surrounding the Shea location during targeted morning and afternoon shifts. Team Members proactively stop and engage all foot traffic, introduce passersby to Center Court Pickleball, and direct interested individuals to sign up on-site via tablet or through the CCP website using a QR code. This is a high-energy, people-first role requiring confidence approaching strangers, genuine enthusiasm for the CCP brand, and the ability to operate independently in an outdoor environment.

Street Team Representatives are responsible for the following:

Visiting local businesses and surrounding community areas to promote CCP and the Shea grand opening

Engaging with all foot traffic and proactively initiating conversations about the club - do not wait for people to approach

Promoting memberships, pre-sale offers, and club amenities

Directing prospective members to the CCP website and assisting with sign-ups via QR code or tablet

Encouraging prospective members to tour or visit the club in person

Working outdoor promotional tables and activation stations

Sign flipping and roadside visibility marketing

Setting up and taking down tables, tents, balloons, signs, and promotional materials

Operating helium equipment for balloon displays

Placing and retrieving A-frame signs at approved locations before and after each shift

Distributing flyers, promotional materials, and QR code cards

Supporting grand opening events and marketing activations

Representing CCP with professionalism, positivity, and energy at all times

PROCESS

Community Outreach & Engagement

Visit local businesses, shops, restaurants, and retail corridors in the Shea area to introduce CCP and our membership offerings

Proactively approach and stop all pedestrians and passersby - do not wait for interest to come to you

Deliver a clear, compelling overview of CCP in 60 seconds or less; adapt messaging based on the audience

Speak confidently about CCP's facilities, courts, fitness offerings, and the unique value of the Shea location

Leave behind flyers, promotional materials, and QR code cards at willing businesses for continued awareness

Build rapport with business owners and managers to establish ongoing community relationships on behalf of CCP

Membership Sales & Lead Conversion

Guide interested individuals through the membership sign-up process on-site using a CCP-provided tablet

Direct prospects to the CCP website by presenting a QR code for easy access on their own device; assist prospects of all ages and tech comfort levels

Clearly communicate current membership tiers, pricing, promotions, and the Shea grand opening timeline

Collect lead information from prospects not ready to sign up immediately and submit to the Director of Club Operations and Performance

Track all sign-ups, QR interactions, business visits, and leads captured each shift using the provided log

Event & Setup Procedures

Properly set up and break down folding tables, chairs, tents, signage, and balloon displays at outreach locations

Place A-frame sidewalk signs at designated high-visibility corners before each shift and retrieve at shift's end

Inflate balloons using a helium tank per safe handling procedures; arrange displays to attract attention at activation sites

Flip and rotate promotional signs in high-traffic areas to maximize visibility throughout the shift

Ensure all materials align with CCP branding standards

Safely transport and manage outreach materials and equipment to and from the facility

Operational Expectations

Arrive on time and fully prepared for the scheduled shift (7:00 AM or 4:00 PM)

Wear approved CCP-branded attire and maintain a professional, high-energy appearance at all times

Maintain organization and cleanliness of outreach materials throughout the shift

Return all equipment and supplies properly after each shift; report any damage or missing items

Follow all safety procedures while working outdoors and near roadways

Shift Schedule

Two defined shifts are available. Team Members may be assigned to one or both shifts based on availability and business need:

Morning Shift:  7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Business district outreach, local shops, morning foot traffic, pre-work and commuter engagement

Afternoon Shift:  4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

After-work foot traffic, evening retail, restaurant corridors, neighborhood activations

Weekend availability is strongly preferred. Schedule is set weekly based on campaign needs and grand opening priorities.

PERFORMANCE

Success in this role will be measured by the following key performance indicators each shift:

Number of new memberships signed up on-site (tablet or QR code)

Number of qualified leads captured and submitted

Number of local businesses visited and documented per shift

Number of community interactions and conversations initiated

Accuracy and completeness of daily shift tracking logs

Proper setup, operation, and breakdown of all outreach equipment

Reliability, punctuality, and full completion of assigned shift hours

Professionalism, energy level, and brand consistency in the field
