• Conduct thorough evaluations including reviewing patient history, performing specific assessments, and documenting results to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Effectively communicate evaluation findings and treatment goals to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement throughout the rehabilitative process.
• Implement treatment protocols proficiently based on evaluation outcomes while adapting to the unique presentations of each patient.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, recognizing and documenting any changes in patient conditions that may warrant updating care plans or referrals.
• Manage discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring comprehensive patient journeys with accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and treatment progress.

As an orthopedic physical therapist at Up Stream, you will be working primarily with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and surgeries. Our diverse patient population includes individuals seeking rehabilitation for sports injuries, post-operative recovery, and chronic pain management. Your role will be crucial in guiding them through tailored orthopedic care plans that enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (CPR) approved by the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills are essential.

While prior experience is not required, candidates with a solid foundation in orthopedic physical therapy will be preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based practice guidelines and experience working within interdisciplinary teams will be advantageous in enhancing patient outcomes.
