About the Coffee Shop

 Good Day Cafe empowers and enriches people’s lives by preparing and serving food, coffee, and a variety of espresso drinks in a vibrant, inclusive social enterprise coffee shop through Strawberry Fields. GDC is a space where people with varying abilities come together with a common goal of serving the greater State College community.

Summary

Strawberry Fields, Inc. is seeking dynamic, upbeat volunteers to assist our Barista Backs during their shifts at the Good Day Cafe. The goal is to empower the employees to perform their tasks accurately and timely. The ideal motivator will volunteer a minimum of 6 hours per week for a year. Responsibilities can include assistance with food and/or order prep, dishwashing, bussing tables, taking customer orders, multitasking, attention to detail, and adaptability to change.

Current hours for The Good Day Cafe are Monday through Friday 7:30am-3pm and

Saturday 8am-2pm.  

Shifts include mornings 7am-11:30am or afternoons 11:15am-3:45pm plus 

Saturdays 7am-3pm and some holiday shifts. MUST be available Saturdays! 

Restaurant and/or experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.

Volunteer PA Criminal background check, professional and personal references, and Tuberculosis testing required.

Training will be provided.
