Job description

Job Description:
The Summer Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern at Terex - Advance will assist in developing safety programs, conducting workplace audits, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key tasks include updating safety procedures, assisting with incident investigations, conducting hazardous waste management, and performing risk assessments to minimize workplace hazards and support sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Compliance & Inspections: Conduct routine safety inspections, walk production floors to identify hazards, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Program Development: Help update safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response protocols.
  • Incident Investigation: Support EH&S staff in tracking incidents, documenting findings, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect data for environmental reports (waste management, air emissions), manage safety metrics in Excel, and maintain chemical inventories.
  • Training & Communication: Develop educational materials and deliver safety training to employees.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Current student pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), excellent written/verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and environmental health concepts is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk industrial/manufacturing sites frequently, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and occasionally lift up to 35-50 lbs.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $25.00/hour.
