Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sourcing Category Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, and indirect procurement. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical abilities, strong stakeholder management skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering measurable value across assigned categories, including professional services and other indirect spend areas. This role requires 4 days per week in our Atlanta office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to optimize cost, quality, service levels, and business value.
  • Manage assigned indirect spend categories, identifying opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct market analyses to identify trends, opportunities, innovation, and risks within assigned categories.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, from strategy development through supplier selection and contract execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Source and negotiate complex Professional Services agreements, including consulting, contingent labor, managed services, and other knowledge-based service categories.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing processes, supplier performance, and overall procurement effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate supply, commercial, operational, and financial risks within assigned categories.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience, including ownership of indirect spend categories within a complex corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and managing Professional Services categories, including consulting, contingent workforce, managed services, and other indirect services.
  • Proven track record developing and executing category strategies that deliver cost savings, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, and business value.
  • Experience leading competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs) and managing supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience leveraging spend analysis, market intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of market dynamics, industry trends, and strategic sourcing best practices across indirect procurement categories.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with sourcing, procurement, contract lifecycle management, and spend analysis tools.
