Unarmed Security Guard

Port Orchard, WA

Overview

Salary Range $22.00 Hourly Position Type Full-Time/Part-Time Job Shift Any

Description

As an Unarmed Security Guard, you will be responsible for providing a visible security presence and maintaining a safe and secure environment within a government, corporate, retail, or commercial setting. This role requires professionalism, strong situational awareness, and excellent customer service skills.

Primary responsibilities include conducting foot patrols, monitoring surveillance and alarm systems, controlling access and egress, observing and reporting suspicious activity, and responding appropriately to safety or security concerns. Officers are expected to complete accurate reports and maintain detailed logs in accordance with post orders and company policy. We are hiring for part time shift Tuesday- Thursday 5pm-11pm this is a vehicle patrol. Must have a clean driving record.

In addition to physical security duties, this position actively supports SSC's G.E.T. Principles — Greet, Engage, and Thank, ensuring a positive experience for customers, visitors, associates, and employees.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a State Unarmed Security Guard License, if required by state or local law
  • Must pass applicable state licensing tests if operating a company-owned or client-provided vehicle

Experience

  • Verifiable work history required
  • One (1) year of security experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow post orders and company procedures
  • Proficient basic computer skills (e.g., report writing, Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions
  • High attention to detail and strong observational skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Proactive, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (or higher if required by state law)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to operate radios, telephones, and monitoring equipment
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and good judgment
  • Must be personable, approachable, and capable of building rapport with the public
  • Subject to drug screening, background check, and other pre-employment requirements as permitted by law
  • Veterans may be required to provide a DD214 upon offer of employment
