Job Description

Position Summary:

US - Seattle only: This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area. You'll work on-site at our casual, pet-friendly office five days a week, along with on-call for after-hours security incidents at 6100 Building and other Trupanion offices.

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Physical Security Program Manager will develop and implement effective security strategies, programs, and protocols to protect the Trupanion offices and 6100 Building against all physical security risks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight and tactical execution of Physical Security programs at Trupanion Seattle HQ, Trupanion North Vancouver Office (NVO) and the 6100 Building

  • Develop, update, and maintain a robust physical security program for the Trupanion Seattle HQ Office, the Trupanion NVO, the 6100 Building management, and other Trupanion physical office locations as required

  • Including plans and training for (not limited to): Onsite physical security for building, Active Shooter, Executive Protection Program (as requested), Travel Protection Program, Personal security/safety, Risk Assessment and Management, and other relevant programs as needed

  • Manage and maintain relationship with Security vendor(s)

  • Review and update contract(s) as needed to ensure program meets organizational needs

  • Define KPIs, review and update post orders, and ensure vendors meet all program requirements

  • Collaborate with UK Office team members to ensure a robust security program exists for that office and provide support for any updates or concerns

  • Complete risk/threat assessments for office and building as required by current policies or per industry best practices

  • Perform periodic program reviews and updates to ensure processes are effective, efficient, and meet requirements

  • Identify security risks, provide appropriate solutions, and implement approved projects

  • Day-to-day operations oversight and management

  • Oversee onsite security vendor at 6100 Building

  • Manage the onsite CCTV system for Trupanion Seattle HQ 6100 Building, and other Trupanion offices including system review, updates, redesign, and changes as needed

  • Primary owner and contact for North Vancouver Office alarm monitoring company

  • Oversee security aspects of all access policies/programs

  • Team member access

  • Visitor/guest access

  • Vendor/contractor access

  • Loaner badges

  • On call for after-hours security incidents at 6100 Building and Trupanion offices

  • Review and approval of invoices related to security services and equipment

  • Identify security risks, scope and recommend solutions for implementation. Complete projects as approved/budgeted.

  • Create and manage the annual security program budget.

  • Performs various security related tasks and requests.

  • Drive and Operate company vehicles as required.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Registration & Certification: 

  • High School graduate or equivalent required

  • Certified Protection Professional strongly preferred 

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience

  • Security program development experience required

  • Experience with CCTV setup and maintenance required

  • Experience developing and overseeing security programs remotely preferred

  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance or insurability

  • Clean driving record for the last 5 years 

  • Intermediate Computer experience & knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Regularly sit at computer workstation

  • Regularly walk, stand, stoop, climb, kneel and crouch

  • Basic knowledge of pertinent codes and regulations is desirable

Compensation:

  • The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000 USD on a full-time schedule.

  • Along with base compensation, Trupanion employees are currently eligible for monthly bonuses.

  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion's success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
