Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of a strategic planning job requires analytical skills, research skills, communication skills, and the ability to handle multi-variable problems in a fast-paced environment. Expert-level proficiency with spreadsheets is particularly helpful in this role. Strategic planning roles at international companies may require fluency in one or more additional languages.

They facilitate cross-functional meetings, synthesize input from stakeholders, and ensure that departmental strategies are consistent with the overall direction of the company. Regular collaboration helps them identify potential risks and opportunities, making their role central to driving long-term growth and adapting to market changes.
